The BlueStar opening reception, held the evening of Monday, September 15th, will feature a relaxed tropical theme with ample opportunity for networking with others in the industry. White leatherette sofas and armchairs set up with large coffee tables allow for an intimate setting where you can talk shop while resting your feet and having a cocktail.

Traveling back in time on Shingle Creek, guests will enjoy a two-hour guided Eco-Journey. Water Guides will tell you the story of Shingle Creek and all its inhabitants as you navigate your own canoe, through scenic Old Florida. Your journey includes use of all watercraft, equipment, and safety gear. Explorers should come prepared with some comfortable outdoor clothing and footwear that doesn’t mind a “walk on the wild side.” All watercraft and equipment is provided for your journey. The Eco-Journey departs from the ORVIS Fly Fishing corner at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. Buses leave from the hotel at 12:30 pm. A boxed lunch will be provided on the bus. In addition, buses will be running to take you back to the hotel after your excursion.

BlueStar is holding an Epson/Toshiba TEC co-sponsored evening bash this year at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Orlando on the evening of Tuesday, September 16th. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville is a mecca for Parrot Heads or anyone else who wants to have a good time and a great meal in the ultimate tropical setting. There is something for everyone at Margaritaville from The Lone Palm Airport, the newest addition featuring Jimmy Buffett's very own seaplane, tiki bar, and kids play area, to the many themed areas including the Volcano Bar complete with a giant margarita exploding volcano. The outdoor dining area, The Porch of Indecision, is a place where guests can sing along to Buffett tunes, socialize with friends, and enjoy our daily happy hour. After dinner, the restaurant transitions into a swinging nightclub where dancing is a must and live bands perform every night of the week.

VARTECH's closing reception, held the last night of the show on September 17th, is an Elo-sponsored luau South Pacific-style! This is entertainment at its finest! Through this evening networking event, BlueStar brings to you the exotic tastes of the South Pacific, hula dancers, knife twirlers, and fire dancers. Be delighted by the ambience and even learn the hula!

Fly like the wind at speeds of up to 45 mph across the water of Lake Jesup, viewing Florida's wildlife. Feel the excitement of seeing birds, turtles, and Florida alligators in their own natural habitats. With a fleet of 4 airboats, there’s plenty of room for everybody! BlueStar riders will depart the hotel at 12:15pm and receive a boxed lunch to munch on during the bus ride. Once we arrive, the group will split in two. While one goes on a half-hour airboat ride, the other will have a photo opportunity with a live baby gator. The two groups will then switch. After both are finished, there will be a group photo, and then everyone will head together to the deck of the Lazy Gator Bar for some Gator Bites. Buses will depart at 4pm to return to the hotel.

The Grande Lakes Outfitters and the Ritz-Carlton Professional Golf Team will guide competing teams in a three-station sporting extravaganza that includes: Laser Skeet Shooting, Fly Fishing, and Miniature Golf.
